outside Chicago, C.E. Zuercher & Co. has served
high-quality foods since the early 1920's. We currently stock over
1000 different specialty food items. Our typical clients include specialty
food stores, supermarkets, delis, restaurants, hotels, caterers,
manufacturers and food-service and retail distributors.
While always looking to expand our client base, few of our
current customers have a casual interest in food. They tend
to buy from us due to a specific interest and desire for high

History
Dedicated to selling the best
cheese and specialty foods available, our firm was founded in
1921 by Clement Emil Zuercher, a fourth generation cheese-maker from
Switzerland. Three more generations of family have
followed him, and remain committed to handling only top-quality
products.
Expertise
Our staff is devoted to cheese
and food. Our employees average over 15 years in the food
business with experience in cheese making, cheese maturing, and
cheese retailing. They have cooked on the line, and as
chefs. They have been professional bakers and creators.
Product-Care
We inspect every product when it
arrives at our warehouse. All cheese is tasted and watched
thoroughly while it's in our inventory. Products are carefully
loaded when shipped. We thoroughly inspect and
rotate all retail/specialty
items to make sure that they are as fresh as possible when they
reach the end user. When you sell old-fashioned,
high-quality products such as artisinal cheeses, prosciutto di
parma, fresh mayonnaise, and true Italian pasta, this unceasing
vigilance is absolutely necessary to ensure product quality and
integrity.
